My name is Rowan Imolc. I am a 44 year old female based between Wakefield and Leeds. I have spent part of my adult life in Paris, France where in my 20s I studied French at the Sorbonne University. I went on to complete a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, and worked for a branch of the British Embassy in Paris (UK Delegation to the OECD). My main interest areas were Education, Social Policy and Health; but I became frustrated that I could not make any real changes to policy or make a positive difference to peoples’ lives.
In my 30s I decided to come back to England and I changed my focus to an area in which I had the potential to support people to make a difference to their own lives. I completed a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology at Keele University. Since then I have worked with children in schools, adults in charity settings and private practice.
It’s a privilege to be witness to the process of clients moving through pain or struggle towards self-awareness and often a better sense of well-being.
